Lite-On introduces its first external DVD dual drive, with Double Layer technology


The new model is the SOHW-832SX and will be available in Europe from week 28 with an expected retail price of €169.

Double layer burning has been implemented in the new 8x external DVD dual drive with USB 2.0 interface.

Record 8.5GB of data or 4 hours DVD quality video on one DVD+R disc. It can also write single layer DVD+R or DVD-R media at 8x maximun, DVD+RW or DVD-RW media at 4x, and read DVD-ROM media at 12x maximum. It also supports writing CD-R media at 40x maximum, US CD-RW media at 24x max, and reads CD-ROM media at 40x max.

The external drive has smaller dimensions, 165mm(W)x58mm(H)x192mm(D).
