Excite Japan to sell music online

Following the public demand, Excite Japan has launched a new music download service called "Excite Music Store."

The online store initially offers 1,100 songs, but will expand the lineup to include roughly 40,000 tunes by the end of June and 100,000 by year-end.

Music files are available in the WMA format to enable any PC user with Windows Media Player to enjoy the purchased content. The downloaded music can be transferred to and played with DRM-compatible portable audio players.
