Sony unveils 1TB DVR recorder

Sony has unveiled a new DVR called the 'Type X' with an impressive 1 terabyte of storage coupled to seven HDTV tuners.

The most important characteristic of the device is its huge capacity as well as the 7 tuners that enable the user to record from 7 different channels simultaneously. The question here is whether we will be able to enjoy these HDTV services from broadcasters outside the Japanese territory.

The Type X is actually based on PC technology, offering support for wireless connections, keyboard, mouse, remote control and printer.

Information about price has not yet been officially announced.
