According to an article at Digitimes , BenQ proved to be the best selling DVD drive manufacturer, having delivered 400,000 DVD drives in March-more than any other Taiwanese drive manufacturer.

According to the company’s Imaging Network Business Group general manager William Wang, the company expects to ship 500,000 DVD drives in May surpassing Lite-On.

Also BenQ expects its optical drive production to increase in 2004, and plans to begin production of Dua-Layer burners at the end of this month as well.
