Teac announces new 16x DVD-ROM drive


Although DVD-ROM drives have currently a small market share in the optical storage market, many users are still interested in a reliable reader for their DVDs and CDs. Teac announced the DV-516DA, a new 16x ATAPI DVD-ROM reader. Availability is expected in a couple of weeks.

The main features of the drive include 16x-Speed reading for DVD-ROM, DVD-R and DVD-RW Discs, 8x-Speed reading for DVD+RW Discs,and 50x-Speed reading for CD-ROM Discs. The drive can be connected through ATAPI ,ATA-4 interface, while ULTRA DMA is supported.
