New DVD drives from Ricoh at Cebit 2004


Ricoh announced the demonstration of several new products at Cebit 2004. The company has improve internal and external DVD burners, while will unveil for the first time digital projectors with a high light transmitting capacity for private and business use.

RICOH will be presenting itself as an OEM provider for advanced entertainment electronics for the rapidly growing DVD recorder market. Ricoh will also provide DVD+R Double Layer 8.5GB recorder and media, as well as DVD+R 16x and DVD+RW 8x media.

The new DVD Drives will be:

• MP5308D – 8x Dual DVD±R/±RW ATAPI internal
• RW8165A – 4x Slim DVD+RW/+R ATAPI internal
• MP5308D-Ex – 8x Dual DVD±R/±RW USB2 & Firewire external
• MP8165P – 4x DVD+RW/+R USB2 & Firewire external
• DVD+R Double Layer 8.5 Gbyte (prototype)

Beetween the new drives Ricoh has also announced a list of new media.

The new DVD Media will be:

• DVD+R 4x – Jewel Case, Cake Plates 10/25/50, Video Box
• DVD+R 8x – Jewel Case, Cake Plates 10/25/50, Video Box, Slim Video Box
• DVD+R 8x Printable – Slim Jewel Case
• DVD+R 16x (prototype)
• DVD+R Double Layer 8.5 Gbyte (prototype)
• DVD+RW 4x – Jewel Case, Cake Plate 10, Video Box, Slim Video Box
