HP released DVD 420 writer (available in internal and external editions), supporting the following recording speeds :DVD±R at up to 8x recording, DVD±RW at up to 4x, and CDs at up to 24x. Has also released the DVD Movie Writer dc4000 with built-in analogue video capture and full DVD ±R/±RW and CD writer capabilities.

Both DVD 420e and DVD 420i drives are equipped with 2MB buffer for buffer underrun prevention and the packages include 2 software CDs, Quick-start placemat, Getting help guide, Minimum legal requirements booklet, Blank DVD media and Installation screws. The external drive also include IEEE 1394 cable, USB 2.0 cable and Blank DVD media

It lets users quickly and easily transfer home videos directly from tape to digital format via their PCs.
