Teac announces the DV-W58DK 8x dual format DVD burner


Teac Japan announced the new DV-W58DK IDE DVD recorder. The drive offers 8x writing for both DVD+R and DVD-R formats. Availability in the Japanese market is expected by end of January.

The drive is based on the upcoming Pioneer DVR-107D. The main specifications include a 2MB buffer and Buffer Underun Protection, 4x DVD+RW/-RW writing, 12x DVD-ROM and 2x DVD-RAM reading. The retail package will include "Ulead DVD MovieWriter Advance SE" for DVD authoring, "Ulead VideoStudio 7 SE", "Ulead DVD Player", "Ulead Burn.Now", and "Ulead PhotoImpact 8 SE" for image compilations.
