Ricoh-Funai cooperation on DVD+RW drive production canceled

Ricoh and Funai have decided to cancel the co-development/production of DVD+RW recorders.

Both companies had agreed to cooperate on the design and production of optical disk drives including DVD+RW two years ago.

The agreement was canceled right before new models were planed for production. However, Ricoh will continue in the DVD+RW drive business.

In addition, Funai will also keep up with DVD+RW production and DVD associated business.
