Sanyo Electric said it will enter the fast-growing DVD recorder/player market with the release of products under its own brand in the United States in the year starting April 1.

Sanyo Electric President Yukinori Kuwano told a press conference that the company also plans to start selling DVD recorder/players in Japan and Europe following the launch in the U.S.
