Sharp develops 6Mpix CCD for 1/1.8 type digital cameras


Sharp developed a new IC for 1/1.8 type CCD used in digital cameras. The RJ21T3AA0PT/ST offers a 6Mpixel resolution and is expected in the market in January 2004.

The provided resolution for 1/18 type of CCD is the highest available in the industry. Sharp's advanced micro processing technology leaded to a significant reduction of the pixel size down to 2.5 ?m.
