Sony computer entertainment releases new products

Sony announced that the standard color of PlayStation 2 will change to "Midnight Black", a translucent color based on the original black model.

There is also a series of new colored peripherals-- the Dual Shock(R) Analog Controller, memory card, and Vertical Stand-- that will be available beginning November 13th, 2003.

These peripherals match the "Midnight Black" of the newly colored base unit PlayStation(R)2 and the "Ceramic White" of the "PlayStation 2" Racing Pack model.

Sony also plans to release the "PlayStation(R)2" Racing Pack, in a limited offering for this winter. The Racing Pack contains Gran Turismo(R)4 "Prologue Version", which is the single cut version of Gran Turismo 4, the latest of the Gran Turismo franchise, and a specially colored "Ceramic White" PlayStation 2, based on the white image color of the title. The racing pack will be available December 4th, 2003.

The recommended retail price is 22,000 yen (excluding tax).
