NEC and New Core Technology to develop the MPEG-2 codec kit


NEC electronics and New Core Technology jointly developed a new low power LSI kit for MPEG-2 compression. The MUPD61151 can be used in various AV devices, such as a digital camcorders (DVC) and a digital cameras (DSC). The kit is expected to be available in the 1st quarter of 2004.

The main parts of this evaluation kit are the following:

A) MPEG-2 codec LSI MUPD61151 (product made by NEC electronics)

B) An analog image processor "CleanCapture TM NDX-1260 " (product made by New Core Technology)

C) A digital image processor "CleanCapture TM SiP-1270 " (product made by New Core Technology)
