Sharp launches ultra slim hybrid recorder


Sharp announced the "DV-HR350", a new hybrid recorder with a built-in 120GB hard disk. The device is expected in the market by the end of September. The company also announced the availability of a "lighter" version of the DV-HR350, the "DV-HR300 equipped with a 80GB HDD, available in the beginning of October. The DV-HR350 is expected to be priced at approximately 100,000 Yen (770 Euros), and the DV-HR300 around 90,000 Yen (690 Euros).

The hybrid recorders have dimensions of 430x323x59mm (width x depth x height), and their weight is approximately 5.1kg. A liquid crystal display is placed on the front panel of the devices, allowing easy control of the recorder's operations. The two models differ only in their color and the capacity of the hard disk they carry.

In addition to hard disk, the recorders have a DVD-R/RW drive, allowing direct recording on DVD-RW/-R discs. In addition, both devices are compatible with CD-R/RW (DVD video, video CD, Audio CD)/RW and DVD±R/RW.

The available recording modes are the FINE/SP/LP/EP/MN (manual). are prepared. The sound support includes the Dolby Digital, and linear PCM recording is available under FINE mode. The manual mode includes 32 different settings, according to your personal taste.
