Toshiba announces availability of hybrid DVD recorder

After an one and a half month delay, Toshiba Corp. announced the launching time of the new "RD-XS31" hybrid DVD recorder. The initial selling date of the RD-XS31 was postponed on July 22 due to firmware modification issues, according to the company.

The RD-XS31 is a DVD/HDD hybrid recorder supporting writing of DVD-RAM/RW/R media. The recorder uses an 80GB HDD and features new network functions. Although its price is open price, it is estimated to be around 110,000 Yen (861 EU).
