DVD-RAM to strengthen its market position with RAM Promotion Group

The DVD-RAM recording format is expected to be further promoted with the contribution of nine electronics and IT companies. The RAM Promotion Group is an industry organization established by Hitachi, Hitachi-LG Data Storage, Hitachi Maxell, LG Electronics, Matsushita Electric Industrial,(Panasonic), Samsung Electronics, Teac, Toshiba and JVC.

Being already members of the Recordable DVD Council (RDVDC), the companies are expecting to increase the popularity of the DVD-RAM and establish it as the main recording format in PC, consumer electronics and other related applications.

The RAMPRG promotion plans will include participation at international exhibitions worldwide, online publications along with industry education activities.
