Mitsumi announces new motor driver IC for DVD writers


Mitsumi has announced the new MM3137XV: A 7-ch motor driver IC that supports DVD write optical combo drives (DVD-RAM/DVD-RW/DVD+RW) and incorporates multiple functions on one chip. It includes the various actuator functions that control spindle motor, sled motor, loading motor, and focus/tracking/tilt in the industry's smallest package (external dimensions:14.1x8.3x1.2mm).
