DATASAFE soon to release an OEM DVD writer

The industry is today awash with rumours that Datasafe Media have struck a deal with Sony to distribute a new model of DVD writer - the DRU500A - which will support both the '+R' and the '-R' standards of blank DVD media.

Datasafe will, according to insiders, be bundling the DRU500A with both types of media. The production of a "+R" disc is a dramatic change in stance for Datasafe who previously described the '+R' sandard as "the dodo of the media world." It is expected that the '+R' disc will not be available for general resale but merely bundled with the drive.
