Alera Technologies adds 4x DVD Recorder to its Award winning line of DVD recording products


Alera Technologies, developer and manufacturer of Advanced Optical Recording Solutions proudly announces the next generation of its Award Winning DVD Recorder Solutions. Alera Technologies has won two in a row Editor's Choice distinctions for its DVD Recording solutions in recent months. The DVD-R Quad Cruiser is an external 4x DVD Recorder with USB 2.0 A-Connect supporting optional IEEE 1394 FireWire or Cardbus/PCMCIA connections and includes a unique software suite. (A complete Ulead Video Suite, Ahead Nero, and a DVD Movie Player).

The DVD-R Quad Cruiser DVD Recorder (Alera Technologies Part # 270105, Ingram Micro SKU # 578285) provides video professionals and enthusiasts with the key features needed for creating DVDs or CDs. The estimated street price of the DVD-R Quad Cruiser is a low $399. It has the tools to author professional video presentations and put them on DVD discs in a format that can be played back on most DVD set top players and computer DVD-ROM drives.

Alera Technologies includes Ulead's DVD Movie Factory, with the DVD-R Quad Cruiser giving users the tools they need to manage their Video Recording and Presentation. With Ahead Nero Express and Nero Vision Express, you have powerful features for creating DVDs and CDs the easy way. Also included is a DVD Movie Player to easily view your creations.

The DVD-R Quad Cruiser is based on 4x DVD-R technology with the fastest DVD Write and ReWrite speeds. It writes DVD-R at 4x (5.54MB/s), DVD-RW at 2x (2.77MB/s), CD-R at 16x (2.4MB/s) and CD-RW at 8x (1.2MB/s). It also reads DVD-ROM and DVD-Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-DA (Audio CD), CD-ROM (Mode 1&2), CD-ROM XA, Video CD, Photo-CD (Single or Multi-session), CD-Extra, CD Plus, CD-Text, Hybrid CD. All of this and a small footprint which is easily transported. The DVD-R Quad Cruiser is Hot Pluggable, with included A-ConnectTM USB 2.0 cable connection. Also available are Optional A-Connect FireWire and Cardbus/PCMCIA Connection Kits.

The DVD-R Quad Cruiser can be connected to multiple systems with different interfaces by merely changing cables. The DVD-R Quad Cruiser external solution is offered with an A-ConnectT USB 2.0 Connection Kit. The DVD-R Quad Cruiser can also be connected with optional A-Connect FireWire IEEE 1394 Connection Kit for PC (Alera Technologies Part # 240110), A-Connect Cardbus/PCMCIA Connection Kits (Alera Technologies Part # 240112, Ingram Micro SKU # 326338) and optional Macintosh A-Connect FireWire Connection Kits (Alera Technologies Part # 240115, Ingram Micro SKU # 645358) includes Charismac Discribe software for Macintosh. A-Connect kits extend portability between systems with different connection ports and buses. An optional Vertical Stand is also available (Alera Technologies Part # 240113).
