The Freecom Portable II DVD+RW/+R is the ideal drive for all applications of a private and professional nature for easy connection to PCs, notebooks and Macs - just plug and go. With the new Freecom drive, you can quickly and easily copy DVDs (DVD+R and DVD+RW) and CDs or create backups on DVD+RW (4.7 GB, corresponding to about 7 CDs). The accompanying software Ulead Video Studio 5* can be used to digitally edit videos on the computer and then burn them to DVD or CD. Freecom's DVD+RW/+R makes it possible to store up to 130 minutes of High Quality video recordings and up to 3 hours of video recordings in VHS quality on one DVD blank of 4.7 GB capacity. Furthermore, videos can be played or music and photo CDs can be compiled. With the extensive range of accompanying software, you can also professionally edit photo and music files, in addition to video files. When writing and rewriting to both CDs and DVDs, the in-built Buffer Underrun Prevention Technology ensures reliable recording at all times.

Freecom supplies the Portable II DVD+RW/+R together with an extensive software package: apart from the latest burning software Easy CD Creator 5 for DVD and CD and Roxio Toast for Mac OS, the kit also includes the DVD software PowerDVD from Cyberlink and a full-fledged version of the video editor Ulead Video Studio 5*. Furthermore, the kit includes: a connecting cable for USB 2.0 / USB 1.1 and FireWire / i.LINK, the power supply, a DVD+RW (4.7 GB) and CD-R (700 MB), a CD-Marker pen and a multi-lingual manual on CD.
