Mediatek enjoyed minor sales growth in October

Taiwanese optical drive chip designer Mediatek on November 7 reported October sales of NT$3.005 billion, rising a slight 3% from NT$2.917 billion in September.

Despite the small sales growth, Mediatek holds a generally optimistic view about its fourth-quarter business. At its third-quarter investors conference on October 24, company chairman Ming-kai Tsai said that Mediatek expected to see fourth-quarter revenues rise further on continuing demand for optical storage media and consumer electronics products.
