NEC announces ND-1100 DVD±RW recorder


NEC announced the "ND-1100", a new DVD writer with support for both DVD-formats. No more confusion which format is best or supported by your other DVD players. ND-1100 supports both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW. Both formats offers several advantages. The drive will be available from Novermber at a price of $300-350.

ND-1100 is also equipped with NECs own technique AOPC, Active Optimum Power Control. During the writingprocess the reading quality is monitored and if the reading quality should go down the lasereffect is adjusted so optimal reading quality is achived. ND-1100 is of course compatible with ordinary CD-RW media so you can still use it as a CD-RW. ND-1100 is perfect for users who needs to store large amount of data (max 4.7Gb), fast, flexible and simple.
