TDK chooses Sonic MyDVD and CinePlayer

Sonic Solutions today announced that TDK Recording Media is bundling Sonic(TM) MyDVD® and Sonic CinePlayer(TM) with their new double-speed DVD-R/RW Writer for PC users. MyDVD will provide users of the new TDK DVW-A020106 with the ability to create DVD video and slide shows in multiple recording formats, including DVD-R, DVD-RW, and CD-R/RW.

"In evaluating DVD-Video creation software to accompany our new DVD writer, we looked for an application that not only combined the best features, but one that was backed by a leader in DVD technology," said Takumi Kigoshi, product manager, computer peripherals and applied digital products for TDK. "The only company that met our criteria was Sonic. We are extremely pleased to introduce our DVD writer with Sonic MyDVD 4 and CinePlayer."

Sonic MyDVD 4 expands on the groundbreaking MyDVD 3 family of applications by integrating motion-video menus, DVD slideshows with transitions and audio soundtrack and optimized Direct-to-DVD(TM) recording. Like MyDVD 3, Version 4 is also OpenDVD(TM) compliant, enabling previously burned DVDs to be opened, re-edited, updated with new video and photo content, and re-burned to DVD recordable/re-writable media.

Sonic CinePlayer, Sonic's DVD software player, is the newest addition to Sonic's complete line of DVD creation and playback applications. Utilizing the most efficient DVD decoding and playback technology available for the PC, Sonic CinePlayer delivers superior-quality video and sound for DVD along with Video CD 2.0 compatibility.

"We are extremely pleased that TDK has chosen Sonic MyDVD 4 and Sonic CinePlayer," said David Habiger, Senior Vice-president and General Manager of Desktop Products at Sonic Solutions. "TDK has long been a leader in recordable media and an innovator in CD-writer products. TDK's new DVD writers are no exception -- they combine performance and innovation in an affordable package."
