Philips announces DVD ReWritable/Recordable licensing programs


PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V. has started patent licensing programs for DVD ReWritable/Recordable systems. The licensing program covering essential patents for DVD+RW and DVD+R Discs, Recorders and Recording Software is handled by Philips also on behalf of SONY CORPORATION and HEWLET-PACKARD CORPORATION. The licensing program covering essential patents for DVD-RW and DVD-R Discs and Recorders is handled by Philips also on behalf of SONY CORPORATION and PIONEER CORPORATION.
