Marantz Japan announces 40/12/48 CD-RW recorder


Marantz Japan announced that will ship a new CD-RW drive with the codename "MZ-R5220A". The drive supports 40X writing (Z-CLV), 12X re-writing, 48X reading, 16MB Buffer, ExacLink buffer underrun protection and support for Mt. Rainier format. Its price is expected at 13800 Yen ($118).

The drive is actually an OEM version of Mitsumi CR-485C but with increased buffer of 16MB. For more information about this drive, check the 40X Roundup Vol.2 under Hardware Section :-)
