Asus announced CRW-4816A (48/16/48), CAV recorder!

Asus announced the new CRW-4816A recorder, which supports 48x writing, 16x rewriting and 48x reading speeds. The ASUS CRW-4816A delivers cutting edge CD-RW performance with innovative CAV (constant angular velocity) and P-CAV (partial constant angular velocity) writing strategies.

The result is ultimate reliability and performance for music compilation, data backups and smooth audio playback. And of course, ASUS patented technologies such as FlextraLink™, FlextraSpeed™, DDSS II and AI auto-speed adjustment are also available in this top-quality optical drive to allow 16X/48X re/writing speeds.

The ASUS CRW-4816A employs innovative technologies to provide cutting-edge data storage capabilities. FlextraLink™ prevents buffer underrun problems and eliminates the creation of unusable discs, while FlextraSpeed™ enhances accuracy and reliability when writing/re-writing across a broad range of certified media. Throughout the recording process, FlextraLink™ consistently monitors the data buffer status, whereas FlextraSpeed™ continuosly tracks the recording media and sets the optimal writing speeds to ensure the best recording quality. Both the ASUS proprietary technologies occupy minimal system resources, allowing the PC to remain fully operational and available for other applications during recording.

The ASUS CRW-4816A drive also features advanced mechanisms such as the patented ASUS DDSS II technology and a unique dust resistance design. DDSS II is an enhanced follow-up to the first generation Double Dynamic Suspension System developed by ASUS. The DDSS technology is designed to minimize the vibration caused by the spindle motor, components, the drive and PC cases. The patented DDSS II stabilizes the pick-up head, both horizontally and vertically, allowing more precise tracking and focusing, while reducing vibration and noise caused by high-revolution motors.

The ASUS 48X CD-rewriter delivers impressive recording quality and swift 16X/48X re/writing speeds. The result is the ultimate reliability and performance for music compilations, data backups, and high-quality audio playback.
