In its drive to create a level playing field in the CD-R disc manufacturing industry Philips recently obtained a favorable judgment in a lawsuit against the company Princo Digital Disc for importing unlicensed/infringing CD-R discs in Germany.

On March 1, 2002, The Mannheim Court of Justice found that Princo indeed is illegitimately making and selling these discs by infringing Philips essential patents on CD-R discs and Princo.
