Ricoh bundles MedioStream's neoDVDstandard with MP5125A

MedioStream, a leading provider of PC-based software for recording video to DVDs and CDs, today announced that its neoDVDstandard authoring software, with its patent-pending ``Direct-to-Disc Recording'' and ``Smart Buffering'' features, is included in the new internal drives from Ricoh that supports recordable DVD+RW and write-once DVD+R.

Designed for both advanced and less experienced users, the Ricoh MP5125A drive aims to meet growing consumer demand to create custom DVDs. Bundled with neoDVDstandard, the Ricoh MP5125A drive offers a compelling alternative to video-to-DVD conversion services, enabling consumers to easily create DVD video and Video CD discs from digital or analog videotapes on their home PC.

neoDVDstandard was selected by Ricoh for the MP5125A DVD+RW/+R drives because of its simplicity and ease of use.

``We're very pleased that major manufacturers such as Ricoh and Sony recognize that neoDVDstandard is simply the easiest way for a consumer to create high-quality customized video discs right from their home PC,'' says Gordon Doran, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MedioStream. ``Ricoh's focus on ease of use is completely in line with our commitment to provide simple solutions for complex tasks. Making your own DVDs, like shooting your own videos, should be fun and straightforward.''

Mamoru Ishida, Product Manager in charge of the Ricoh MP5125A drive, believes that neoDVDstandard will meet customers' expectations for DVD creation and help grow consumer demand.

``A top priority for us in designing our DVD+RW drives is making sure that the end user can have an enjoyable, simple and seamless experience,'' said Ishida. ``We're pleased to have the support of companies such as MedioStream that we know have made similar commitments.''
