TDK announces new 40x recorder!

TDK is poised for continued growth with its announcement today of the industry's first 40X CD burner. The new 40X veloCD joins TDK's expanded lineup of high-performance, high-value 32X and 24X CD burners. The 40X veloCD burner, scheduled for April availability, is an internal ATAPI drive offering 40X write, 10X rewrite and 40X data read speeds. Equally important for today's music-passionate computer user, the new veloCD is capable of ripping CD audio tracks at 40X, with bit-perfect musical accuracy.

TDK's veloCD burners for 2002 offer consumers faster, easier and more flexible solutions for enjoying all the benefits of CD burning. The company's expanded CD burner line includes Internal ATAPI, external IEEE-1394 (FireWire) and external USB 2.0 models in each speed family. TDK's new burner introductions include the company's first slim portable CD ReWriter, a 24X model with IEEE-1394 connectivity. The unique new drive offers 24X write, 10X rewrite, and 40X read/rip speeds while measuring just 7" long by 5.5" wide by 1.25" deep and weighs just over one pound. And thanks to its IEEE-1394/FireWire connectivity, the Model FP-241040X is ideal for both Windows and Mac OS-based computers and laptops.

Noted Randall Rosenbaum, TDK's Product Manager, "With the introduction of our first veloCD burners in 1999, TDK set out to become the market leader in this exciting and fast-growing category. Since then, we've continued to gain market share and, perhaps more importantly, we've secured our reputation as a company that can be counted on for high-performance, high-value digital recording hardware. We have been consistently ranked #1 by leading PC magazines for the quality and value of our burners. And with the addition of a 40X veloCD and a slim portable 24X model, we intend to continue building our business by offering end users the ultimate solutions for their recording needs."

All TDK veloCD burners come complete with TDK's CD Blender software suite, consisting of TDK Digital Mixmaster music management and recording software, plus NeroTM 5.5 CD recording software, InCDTM drag-and-drop packet writing software and other useful utilities.

Digital Mixmaster gives users a convenient jukebox interface, easily customizable with a broad range of new, colorful graphic "skins." It handles day-to-day music management and recording functions including CD playback, ripping, MP3 playback, Internet-accessed track labeling and CD recording (including on-the-fly conversion of computer music files and playlists into play-anywhere CDs).

Also included is Nero 5.5, the world's most advanced multimedia recording software. Nero makes it easy to copy virtually every type of CD-ROM and CD-Audio disc, including Multi-Session discs and several new hybrid formats. Nero can also be used to create VideoCDs (VCD) of home movies or a slide show of your own photos. Nero can even control two veloCD burners simultaneously, making it easy for users to convert their desktop PCs into a flexible duplication station.
