Sony announces DVD+RW/CD-RW drive


Sony Electronics has announced a combination DVD+RW/CD-RW drive, the DRU110A/C1, as well as 4.7GB DVD+RW media. Sony's DRU110A/C1 drive combines DVD+RW and CD-R/RW recording with DVD-ROM and CD-ROM playback. The drive supports up to 2.4X max writing speed for DVD+RW, as well as 12X CD-R recording and 10X CD-RW recording. Software bundled with the drive includes Sonic Solutions' MyDVD, B's Clip and Recorder Gold, and InterVideo's WinDVD. Sony's DRU110A/C1 DVD+RW drive will be available at an estimated price of $599. Sony's 4.7GB DVD+RW media will be available at an estimated price of $16.
