Alera Technologies announces 32x CD-RW


Alera Technologies announced today that it will start shipping its new 32x CD-Recording solution this quarter. Alera Technologies 32x CD-Recorder will be an external total solution including everything the user needs to start using this blinding recording speed immediately. ``The timing is perfect with CNET announcing today that Hewlett Packard is getting out of the CD-Recorder business,'' stated Perry Solomon, President and CEO of Alera Technologies. ``Nature abhors a vacuum, and with the current No. 1 supplier leaving the marketplace, we are ideally positioned to successfully fill the void with innovative, cutting edge solutions.''

Alera Technologies' team of CD-R technology pioneers established the CD Recording industry track record of creating award-winning products well before HP entered the market and plans to be a leading supplier of this technology long after HP is gone. As a preview, the new Alera Technologies 32x external CD-Recorder will incorporate a FireWire IEEE 1394 interface, and will include a FireWire IEEE 1394 host adapter and powerful software suite. The connectivity architecture will be truly unique and facilitate unprecedented versatility. The CDR Cruiser 32 will ship before year end with an Estimated Street Price (ESP) of $399..
