Acer launches USB 2.0 product line

Acer Communications & Multimedia America announced one external CD-RW -- which employ the brand new USB 2.0 interface for improved transfer speed and performance. As a leader in consumer technology, Acer recognizes the need to keep its product line fresh with the latest peripheral advancements. USB 2.0 represents a significant improvement over the first generation data transfer standard and will serve to make peripherals faster and more efficient than ever before. These products will be available in December, just in time for the holiday season.

The CRW 2010EU will be the first USB 2.0 external drive offered by Acer. The unit offers 20x write, 10x re-write and 40x read performance and has an MSRP of $299. The CRW 2010EU is equipped with Acer's embedded "Seamless Link" firmware solution that allows for efficient burning at high speeds and helps to alleviate buffer under-run problems, which improves performance and reliability.
