NEC ships slim line DVD/CD-RW drive


NEC ships new slim-line ATAPI DVD/CD-RW drive with the codename "CB-2001A". It will support 8x writing, 8x re-writing, 24x reading and 8x DVD-ROM. The drive will be used only for OEM proposes. Nec also plans to manufacture slim-line drive capable of reading DVD-RW or DVD+RW drive around summer of 2002! The final decision upon which format will be supported is not yet decided.
