Samsung Electronics develops CD/DVD optical pick-ups


Samsung Electronics announced on Sept. 26 that it has developed CD/DVD optical pick-up devices. With the development of optical pick-ups, officials of Samsung said the company reduced the number of parts by more than 15 percent and cut production costs by about 30 percent. Samsung is planning to produce the optical pickups in November at its Suwon Plant. The Korean company said it will begin introducing the products to new DVD players which will be released in 2002.
