HP announced a new 24x recorder with the codename "cd24ri". The drive supports 24x writing , 10x re-writing, 40x reading, Buffer Underrun protection, 2MB of buffer. The retail package includes: HP CD Creation Software, Ahead Nero 5.5, MusicMatch Jukebox, ArcSoft Photo Center, ArcSoft VideoImpression and CD-Labeler kit. The drive is expected to cost around 227$ and will hit the market in the next few weeks.
