WAITEC introduces Megalus 24x speed CD-RW

"...Once again, hi-tech firm WAITEC has set a new standard in CD-Rewriters technology. The company has expanded its range of advanced CD-writers with a new 24x/10x/40x BurnProof model. The Megalus, one of the world’s first ever 24x CD (Re-)Writers, combines high speed with attractive pricing, great reliability and the capacity to ‘think’ and ‘learn’! This makes Megalus the perfect solution for frequent, ultra-fast and error-free archiving or exchanging of large data volumes. No more throwing away failed copies. ‘Just make a quick CD copy’ is now a genuine option, time after time! High-speed copying also makes use, for the first time, of the tremendous reading speeds offered by today’s CD drives.

This ‘speed demon’ is equipped with BURN-Proof technology, which combats buffer underrun errors. This makes failure of the burn process impossible. Megalus utilises ‘Zone CLV’ technology, which allows it to stop and restart the burn process several times whilst burning a single CD. The ‘flexible speed’ and ‘flexible strategy’ technologies by WAITEC also play an important role in this respect. Flexible Speed ensures the Megalus guarantees the best possible burn speed for each individual CD. During the burn process, the status of the CD is constantly monitored and the speed is adjusted for the best possible result. Flexible Strategy analyses these adjustments during writing, allowing Megalus to learn from each individual session, and work more efficiently with different types of media.

The introduction of Megalus brings 24x writing within reach of both (semi-)professional and home users. Megalus is currently available in an E-IDE/ATAPI version. The retail kit contains a 24x CD-R, a 10x CD-RW, E-IDE cable, audio-cable, manual and CD-burning software. This CD RW drive possesses all the familiar WAITEC product properties: advanced technology and great ease of use..."
