Ricoh Japan announces "JustSpeed"


We have posted the news about Ricoh MP7200 among with full pictures in our Cebit 2001 report. However Ricoh Europe missed in their presentation/press release to mention "JustSpeed", the new technology for MP7200A. What "JustSpeed" do? It adjusts the recording speed of the drive in order to get the best quality for the produced CD.

Mechanism of

STEP1At the time of media insertion, ATIP information (the manufacturer name which is beforehand recorded to the media, media type) from you acquire largest entry speed information.

STEP2Immediately before the writing in, with the trial writing to the OPC area of the disk inside perimeter, you acquire the largest entry speed information inside the range of largest laser power of drive.

STEP3Immediately before the writing in, servo following check in the disk rim (check of the track/truck being off-center with the eccentric cutting precision insufficiency of the media itself) you acquire the largest entry speed information in the range which it can follow on the basis of circumstance..."
