FireWire to Ultra-SCSI adaptor


A new adaptor named "Firerex" is out. It connects FireWire devices (IEEE-1394) to SCSI interface. The product will start selling from November at 12,800 Yen ($118.617 USD) and supports PC/AT compatible machines, PC 98 -NX, Mac and the Powerbook. It can be used under Windows 98 SE/Me/2000 and MacOS 9.0.4 or later.

The Firere X1 has external size of 55 mm x 65 mm x 15 mm (width x depth x height) and weights 48gr. It supports 2 FireWire connecting devices up to one UltraSCSI connector (50 pin). This can be used only with storage system such as HDD,CD-R/RW drive but printers and scanners are not supported. Power source is supplied from term power of the SCSI device but also external AC adapter can be used optional.
