Young Minds introduces PowerCD Studio which smashes CD-Recording bandwidth limitations

"...Young Minds has begun shipping PowerCD Studio, a new version of its controller-based CD-Recording (CD-R) solution that increases data throughput rates by up to 600%. The increased bandwidth allows greatly increased CD-R production in network and production environments where large numbers of discs must be recorded.

The PowerCD Studio controller is designed for use with YMi's PASsport disc autoloader, and can be integrated with existing applications via CD-Q, YMi's CD-R workflow software, to form a complete, "lights-out" automated solution. The PASsport is now shipping with a 12x recordable drive. Other disc autoloaders are also available.

PowerCD Studio features data throughput speeds of up to 4MB per second -- about five to six times faster than AutoStudio, the product PowerCD Studio replaces. This increase allows PowerCD Studio to download a full 650MB disc image in under three minutes.

Just as PowerCD Studio's fast data throughput eliminates the bottleneck from the workstation to the recorder, CD-Q workflow software eliminates network bottlenecks by providing users and System Administrators with full control over data transfers. Network transfers can be prioritized and scheduled to take advantage of periods of low utilization, and coordinated with other network activities -- such as system backups -- to ensure that CD-R jobs are processed efficiently..."
