Smart Storage and Pioneer New Media Technologies, Inc. Offer Industry's First Multi-Terabyte Storage Solution Featuring Internal Write-Once Capabilities

"..Smart Storage Inc., the leading provider of standards-based storage software for managing, accessing, and archiving information assets, and Pioneer New Media Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of optical storage devices, today announced the first complete DVD-R solution for network storage in a library system.

SmartStor Archive is a complete read/write archival storage solution for vertical storage applications such as document imaging, medical imaging, broadcast archiving, and digital asset management. Its support for write-once media provides an ideal solution for applications that require an indelible medium on which to store their data.

SmartStor Archive is the first product that supports UDF v. 1.02, 1.5, and 2.0, providing complete read/write support and portability, as well as the ability to read media on the Windows 2000 platform. With over 100% improvement in read/write performance over previous versions, users benefit from faster writing and accessing speeds.

The DRM-7000 FlexLibrary is the only library system shipping with both CD-R and DVD-R capabilities. An innovative modular approach offers the flexibility to accommodate a disc-to-drive ratio ranging from 2-16 drives and up to 720-discs--a 3.8TB solution. Current drive options include DVD/CD-ROM, CD-R, and DVD-R. The drive modules are hot swappable, meaning no down time or tools required to replace or upgrade drives on the fly. A unique built-in memory feature enables the 20-disc Hypermagazine or a 50-disc magazine to perform off-line archiving. Future upgrade options are unlimited with the FlexLibrary's unique snap-in design technology, making it a truly future-driven investment.."
