Hollywood agrees on DVD protection

It seems that the movie industry has finally agreed on what kind of protection they will accept for all kinds of home DVD-burners: The track where the encryption keys go will be pre-burned with zeroes.

That's not a new thing, today's DVD-R discs allready have this measure built-in (perharps software-manufacturers could also benefit from this protection ?).

What's new is that the movie industry will require this protection to be incorporated into ANY future DVD-R/RW/whatever standard will emerge in the future.
