This gives the highest dollar per megabyte ratio found on the market today for rewritable media. The performance of the DVD-RAM drive shouldn't be a problem since it is probably not a good idea to use it for anything else other then reading, writing, erasing data off DVD-RAM media. After all, this drive costs well over 400 dollars so trying to avoid any unnecessary use is a good idea. All in all DVD-RAM is a very good solution for data archiving but HP, Sony and Philips pushing for a different standard, it is probably best to hold out until one comes out on top.."
