Golden Hawk made a new ASPI Layer which will support IDE and Scsi drives.

"..These drivers will be distributed with future versions of CDRWIN and our C++ Class Library. You will no longer have to rely on Adaptec's ASPI drivers for proper support of IDE recorders under Windows 95/98/NT.

We especially need people who have Windows 2000 to test these drivers for compatibility under this new operating system.

Version 3.7D of CDRWIN with the new drivers can be found athere. After installation, the following files will be added to your system…

WINDOWS 95/98
- WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WNASPI95.DLL
- WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\WNASPI95.VXD

WINDOWS NT
- WINNT\SYSTEM32\WNASPINT.DLL

Make sure that you reboot your system after installation, so that the new drivers will be activated. If the drivers are properly installed, a small "copyright notice" will be displayed each time you start CDRWIN.

These drivers shouldn't interfere with any current ASPI drivers that you have on your system. However, if you have major problems with these new drivers, simply delete the above files and reboot... CDRWIN will go back to using the standard ASPI drivers on your system. Note: Do not delete the file WNASPI32.DLL by mistake! This is the name of the standard ASPI driver on most systems. Please report all problems here.."
