LG Electronics will start start selling its first smartwatch, G Watch, next month through the Google Play Store, the Korean company announced on Friday.
The announcement of the Android -powered smartwatch will be made at Google's developers' forum on June 25 in San Francisco.
This is the first wearable device LG Electronics has developed with support from LG Display, which is has exclusive supplier rights.
LG has manufactured the device, which will be Google's reference design for smartwatches. It will be based on Google's Android Ware platform for earable devices.
LG has been offering its own high-end and mid-tier mobilesby manufacturing Google's Nexus line.
The smartwatch will eventually make its debut at this year's IFA trade fair in Berlin, Germany, September 5-10.
LG's rival Samsung Electronics has already introduced two variants of its smartwatches, while Apple is set to unveil its first smartwatch ? tentatively named "iWatch" in October.
