ASUS at Computex 2014

ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih took to the stage at Computex 2014 today to present the enbook NX500 laptop; the ProArt PA328Q 4K monitor; and the RT-AC3200 tri-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi router. He also introduced the next generation Fonepad tablet, the new MeMO Pad Series tablets, and finally the Transformer Book V five-mode, three-in-one converged laptop, ,and finally the Transformer Book T300 Chi detachable notebook.

Transformer Book V

Transformer Book V is the first five-mode, three-in-one converged laptop that features a Windows and Android laptop and tablet as well as an Android smartphone. Its design comprises a laptop with a detachable 12.5-inch screen that becomes a separate tablet and a 5-inch smartphone that docks into the tablet.

As a laptop, Transformer Book V includes a full QWERTY keyboard and touchpad, and runs both Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4 KitKat. A dedicated hardware button provides instant switching between the two operating systems. The laptop features a next-generation Intel Core processor, a 12.5-inch HD IPS display with touch support and up to 1TB of storage.

As a tablet, Transformer Book V also works as a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet and an Android 4.4 KitKat tablet when the phone is docked. Switching between the two systems only takes a tap on the screen. It offers access to the Google Play Store and Windows Store and has built-in storage of up to 128GB.

As a phone, Transformer Book V runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and is the first 5-inch LTE smartphone powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor. It supports Long-Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity and comes with a 2500mah battery that provides up to 10 hours of web browsing time.

Transformer Book T300 Chi

ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi is a high-performance detachable notebook that comes with an ultra-thin12.5-inch tablet display. It features an fanless 2-in-1 design powered by Intel?s next-generation, low-power processor based on the Core micro-architecture. It is thinner than most ultraportable laptops on the market today, and the detachable tablet is also the thinnest Intel Core-powered tablet at just 7.3mm thick.

Transformer Book T300 Chi features LTE support and is equipped with a 2560 x 1440 WQHD IPS display.

ASUS Transformer Book Flip

The ASUS Transformer Book Flip is an affordable Windows 8.1 laptop with a hinge design that enables the screen to be set at any angle between zero and 360 degrees. Flip can be used as a laptop or a tablet. It is powered by Intel Core up to i7 processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce GT840M discrete graphics with 2GB of video memory. Asus will offer three screen sizes available - 13.3 inches, 14.0 inches and 15.6 inches.

ASUS Transformer Book Flip features an up to Full HD 1920 x 1080 touchscreen with a hinge that allows the user to rotate it freely up to 360 degrees from the fully-closed position. From standard laptop mode, it?s easy to flip the instantly to suit whatever task the user wants to perform. An automatic keyboard and touchpad lock is activated whenever Flip is used in non-laptop modes.

Instant On technology means that Flip only takes two seconds to resume from sleep, and users don?t need to worry about losing data when in sleep mode for up to 14 days - when the Lithium-polymer battery?s charge drops below 5%, files and data are automatically backed up.

Audio is enhanced by ASUS SonicMaster technology..

ASUS Transformer Book Flip will be available worldwide from the end of June, 2014.

New ASUS Fonepad and MeMO Pad Series

Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) is an 8-inch tablet with built-in 3G connectivity and phone functionality. It has anarrow 5.06mm bezel, and its HD1280 x 800 IPS display and 72.2% screen-to-body ratio provide the largest viewing area of any 8-inch phablet on the market. Featuring the latest 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 1.8GHz quad-core processor, Fonepad 8 delivers multi-tasking and graphical performance for the latest apps and games while still being energy-efficient. It also comes with dual front speakers and ASUS SonicMaster audio.

MeMO Pad 7 (ME176C) is a 7-inch, 64-bit Android tablet. It comes equipped with dual-channel stereo speakers with SonicMaster technology, and a high-definition ultra-wide-view IPS display. Support for Miracast lets MeMO Pad 7 stream video in high-definition to a compatible TV or other display, while aptX CSR Bluetooth technology enables wireless streaming of audio to headphones and other supported devices.

MeMO Pad 7 comes equipped with a 5-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera that both feature PixelMaster technology. This provides additional features such as Time Rewind Mode, Selfie Mode and Always in Focus. MeMO Pad 7 is powered by an 64-bit Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor (up to 1.86GHz).

MeMO Pad 8 (ME581CL) is an 8-inch LTE tablet driven by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz quad-core processor. It offers 802.11ac Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity and its Full HD IPS display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for scratch resistance. The tablet has a multi-layer coating with Non-Conductive Vacuum Metallization (NCVM) technology, weighs 299g and is 7.45mm thick.

The ASUS MeMO Pad 7 and 8 (ME176C and ME181C) will be available from mid-June.

ASUS Transformer Pad (TF103C/ TF303CL)

The new ASUS Transformer Pad models (TF103C/TF303CL) feature a new mobile keyboard dock with a hidden hinge design, and are powered by the latest 64-bit Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor (up to 1.86GHz). The tablets measure just 257.4 x 178.4 x 9.9mm, and are slightly thicker at 19.8mm when docked. The new keyboard dock has ergonomic chiclet keys with 1.9mm of key travel, and includes one-touch function keys for common tasks like Delete or Screen Grab.

The Transformer Pad TF103C has an HD 1280 x 800 display with IPS technology for 170-degree wide viewing angles. It also has dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and integrated GPS and GLONASS receivers.

The Transformer Pad TF303CL has a Full HD 1920 x 1200 IPS display with 178-degree viewing angles with ASUS Splendid color enhancement technology. It also offers LTE Cat 4 connectivity, HDMI output and Miracast support.

RT-AC3200 router

ASUS RT-AC3200 is a fast tri-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi router that delivers combined data speeds up to 3200Mbit/s. It is poered by a Broadcom six-stream 802.11ac Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology. It features SmartConnect, which increases Wi-Fi performance by up to 200% by automatically selecting the ideal band for network clients depending on their location and needs. ASUS AiRadar with universal beamforming intelligently strengthens wireless connectivity to improve Wi-Fi coverage to network devices.

The ASUSWRT graphical user interface of RT-AC3200 provides network control and optimization. Setup takes 30 seconds, and the interface means even network newbies can enjoy features such as traffic monitoring and Adaptive Quality of Service (QoS) bandwidth management, while power users will love its IPv6 support, multiple wireless SSIDs and secure VPN access. AiProtection with Trend Micro provides protection from external attacks as well as maintaining personal privacy. Adaptive QoS intelligently manages network traffic to automatically give each device and application optimal bandwidth.

ProArt PA328Q 4K/UHD Monitor

The ASUS ProArt PA328Q 4K/UHD monitor is a 32-inch 4K/UHD (ultra-high-definition) monitor for professionals. It features a 16:9 aspect ratio WLED display that delivers 4K/UHD visuals with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It has a pixel density of 138 pixels per inch (ppi) to provide over 8 million pixels, four times the pixel density of standard Full HD displays.

Capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors, the PA328Q delivers great color reproduction and saturation thanks to its 350cd/mē brightness and a 100,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio (ASCR), and the ASUS-exclusive SplendidPlus Video Intelligence Technology.

Each PA328Q is factory-calibrated to prove color accuracy (Delta < 2), and with a wide 100% sRGB color gamut. The PA328Q offers 10-bit display color for over one billion onscreen colors and supports a 14-bit internal lookup table (LUT), which gives smoother gradations and more transitions between hues.

PA328Q delivers breakthrough connectivity with the following options:

  • 1 x Mini DisplayPort 1.2 (4K at 60Hz)

Built-in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) and Picture-by-Picture (PbP) functionality let you view content from two different sources simultaneously, with the ability to switch video between sources easily.

Zenbook NX500

Zenbook NX500 is an Ultrabook with an aluminum unibody construction and slim form factor. It is powered by an Intel Core up to i7 quad-core processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M graphics, supported by 2GB of GDDR5 video memory. It also packs the Broadcom 3-stream 802.11ac Wi-Fi for fast network speeds and SATA 3 RAID 0 or PCIe x4 SSD storage.

The first ASUS notebook with a 4K/UHD display with VisualMaster technology comes ready to support future 4K video content. Its 15.6-inch 3840 x 2160 resolution IPS panel provides a large workspace, a wide color gamut (100% NTSC/108% Adobe RGB) and, plus factory-calibrated color temperature.

Combined with its 4K/UHD display, Zenbook NX500 features titanium-film speakers and SonicMaster audio technology, incorporating ICEpower, Bang & Olufsen technology.

Portable AiO PT2001

ASUS Portable AiO is a 19.5-inch touchscreen All-in-One (AiO) PC with a portable design. Weighing 3.2kg and featuring a foldaway handle, Portable AiO is easy to carry and set up anywhere, even away from a power outlet thanks to its internal battery that lasts up to five hours. Its design tapers to 12.3mm at its thinnest point. For use on a table or desk, the pull out kickstand provides support, and folds flush into the back of Portable AiO when not needed.

The centerpiece of Portable AiO is its high-definition 19.5-inch IPS 10-point touchscreen display with a touch-friendly design for easy control of Windows 8.1. SonicMaster audio technology enhances movies, music and games. The Portable AiO is powered by up to a 4th generation Intel Core processor and NVIDIA GeForce 820M GPU. It also comes with optional 802.11ac Wi-Fi support and two HDMI ports .

In addition, the Portable AiO features gesture control that lets users interact with and control the PC from a distance with simple gestures, allowing them to read books, browse the internet, and control movies and music with a wave of the hand. Portable AiO optionally includes support for Near Field Communication (NFC). Used together with an NFC-supported mobile device, AiO provides additional features such as instant Windows logon without typing a password, automatic photo and video backup from the mobile device to Portable AiO and quick access to files directly from the mobile device.
