Toshiba Showcases New Array Of 4K Ultra HD TVs At CES


Toshiba today announced its 2014 4K Ultra HD TV offerings, which include the new L8400U, L9400U, and L9450U Series Ultra HD TVs.

Now in its third generation of Ultra HD image processing, Toshiba has enhanced its proprietary CQ 4K Engine, and has also added its first Toshiba Radiance 4K Full Array LED Panels.

Toshiba's premium L9400U Series features the company's new Radiance 4K Full Array LED panels, ClearScan 240Hz and a new thin poster frame cosmetic design. The L9400U series will be available in 65-inch and 58-inch screen sizes. Key features for 2014 include Toshiba's first-ever LED panel kit, which incorporates Toshiba's own SuperBright LEDs, with Super Wide Color Gamut and Quantum Black Local Dimming to deliver brighter, more colorful, and deeper images.

The Toshiba CQ 4K Engine is third-generation 4K processing that utilizes a five-point image enhancement system that includes resolution restoration, motion interpolation, dynamic detail enhancement, color restoration and dynamic noise reduction.

ClearScan 240Hz refresh rate technology also promises to create smooth fast motion video.

The TV also offers access to Toshiba's 2014 Smart TV with Cloud Portal system and allows you to control the TV functions you use every day just by talking to the TV remote.



A new speaker system along with the DTS Premium Sound increases bass response and creates an enhanced audio impact.

The 84-inch L9450U Series includes almost all of the new features found in the L9400U Series including the CQ 4K Engine, ClearScan 240Hz, Smart TV with Cloud Portal, Voice Control and more, but replaces the Radiance 4K Panel with a super-sized 84-inch Local Dimming LED panel.

Toshiba says the L8400U Series "helps the 1080p customer step into quality 4K Ultra HD." The L8400U Series will be available in 58-inch and 50-inch screen sizes.

Basic features include the Toshiba CQ 4K Engine; ClearScan 120Hz; Smart TV with Cloud Portal; Voice Control; Labyrinth Speaker System; Sonic Separation; DIRECTV Ready.

Toshiba will start shipping the new Toshiba L8400U, L9400U and L9450U 4K Ultra HD TV Series this summer.

Besides the new 4K TVs, Toshiba announced at CES its full lineup of 2014 Full HD LED televisions. Toshiba?s TV lineup includes series with a variety of options and technologies in sizes ranging from 32 to 65 inches.

At the peak of the 2014 Full HD TV lineup, the Toshiba L7400U Series features the new Radiance Full Array LED panel incorporating Toshiba's SuperBright LEDs with twice the brightness of a standard LED backlight system, Wide Color Gamut and Quantum Black Local Dimming. It also includes the ClearScan 240Hz refresh rate and the CQ Dual + Single Core Engine. Other features include the Labyrint Speaker System; DTS Premium Sound; DIRECTV Ready; Smart TV with Cloud Portal.

The L7400U Series will be available in 55- and 47-inch screen sizes.

The Toshiba L5400U Series steps up from the L3400U Series with CS240Hz to maintain motion clarity and also features DTS TruSurround for enhanced sound. Smart TV provides access to key applications including Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, GameNow, Hot List, and new Samba Interactive TV. The L5400U also features built-in MediaShare and Wi-Fi, and will be available in 65- and 58-inch screen sizes.

The Toshiba L3400U Series incorporates CS120Hz and the CQ Dual Core Engine and DTS TruSurround for enhanced sound. Smart TV provides access to key applications including Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, GameNow on-line gaming, Hot List app aggregation, and new Samba Interactive TV. The Smart TV package also includes MediaShare and Built-in Wi-Fi.

The L3400U Series will be available in 50- and 40-inch screen sizes.

The Toshiba L2400U Series steps up from the L1400U Series with CS120Hz and a modern Gun Metallic design. The 32-inch model also improves resolution from 720p HD to 1080p Full HD.

The Toshiba L1400U Series also features the DynaLight technology, Dynamic Backlight, ColorMaster, Native Mode, and Game Mode. It also includes DTS TruSurround.

The L2400U and L1400U LED TV Series will be available in 32-, 40- and 50-inch screen sizes.
