Freecom FHD-1 - The Intelligent Solution

Freecom presents the first intelligent external hard drive: the SYNC function with intelligent data matching backs up and manages your data. This mobile data storage device provides the maximum performance via USB 2.0, a storage capacity of up to 120 GB and absolute reliability. source: www.cdrinfo.com

The Freecom FHD-1 is a fast, external and silent hard drive with One-Button-Data-Synchronization. With this intelligent USB 2.0 hard disk, you can add storage capacity to your computer in a flash. The hard disk, in a cool design, weighs just 650 g and is thus best suited for mobile use. With its curved shape, the drive can be placed either horizontally or vertically. The Freecom FHD-1 can be connected to any PC via the USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 port. Thanks to USB 2.0, the FHD-1 gives hi-speed data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbits per second and thus guarantees fast access to all the data at all times. Conceived for all users with stringent demands for performance and reliability, the Freecom FHD-1 is just as ideally suited for the storage of data, digital photographs, videos and MP3 files as for creating backups and transporting data. source: www.cdrinfo.com

What's special about the external hard drive from Freecom is the One-Button-Data-Synchronization function; the SYNC function with intelligent data matching ensures absolute security. Pressing the SYNC button once causes the FHD-1 to automatically back up the latest version of your data. Data backups can hardly get any more comfortable, if you work frequently on different computers (e.g. your notebook or desktop at home), you can use the SYNC button and the Freecom SYNC software to synchronize your data in a simple, uncomplicated manner. As soon as you connect the FHD-1 to another computer (e.g. your office computer) and press the SYNC button, the Freecom SYNC software automatically detects which files have been changed and gives you the option of replacing them. You can thus be sure that you always work with the latest information and data.

The Freecom FHD-1 USB 2.0 is available in three versions: 20 GB, 60 GB and 120 GB. The additional hard drive provides any amount of space for your data. The FHD-1 represents an extremely cost-effective facility for easy backups of large quantities of data. Connecting the drive is also very simple, thanks to plug-and-play: there are no drivers that need to be installed; the hard drive is configured automatically. As soon as you connect the FHD-1 to the PC, it is ready to go. The hard drive is also hot-pluggable. i.e. it can be connected and disconnected with the computer running.

Freecom supplies the hard drive together with USB 2.0 connecting cable, power supply and a manual on CD. The kit also includes a software package on CD, including the Freecom SYNC software and Liquid Audio Player. Freecom provides the perfect support for the FHD-1 hard drive: a 2 year manufacture guarantee with on-site replacement service. The Freecom FHD-1 will be available with your dealers from June 2002 starting at 199 Euro (recommended retail price).
