Sony DADC Launches Platform Services To Manage Media Lifecycle Operations

Sony DADC today launched a new integrated platform service offering that will manage complete media lifecycle operations for its clients in the media and entertainment industries.

The Global Platform Services will oversee the company's clients supply chain operations and their third-party service providers, from demand through consumption, including creative design support, manufacturing, fulfillment, retail services and reverse logistics. Sony DADC?s Global Platform Services will also manage processes, solution development, and functionality to ensure supply chain and process efficiencies, as well as cost reductions.

"Our goal is to remove the challenges and excessive costs of managing a full supply chain solution while developing processes that can be dedicated to extending the life of packaged media and enhancing the retail experience," said Dieter Daum, President & CEO, Sony DADC. "By establishing an independent and cohesive operations management platform that integrates with third-party providers, we are able to further support our clients by addressing several challenges facing the media industry today."

The platform can be used by media companies, distributors, and service providers to issue, negotiate, and deliver services from commercial suppliers. These service offerings also include business development capabilities to maintain and expand distribution channels as well as the ability to combine client order volumes and service capabilities to ensure the most cost-effective solutions for clients.
