Intel Rolls Out New Intel Xeon Phi Server Motherboard at SC'12

At Supercomputing 12, Intel's Enterprise Platforms and Services Division (EPSD) unveiled their new 4 socket server board S4600LH (formerly codenamed Lizard Head Pass) and the associated server system R2000LHT.

The system supports standard Intel Xeon processors along with the newly released Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors built on Intel's Many Integrated Core (MIC) architecture.

The Intel Server System R2000LH2/LT2 family delivers serviceability features with high performance and reliability as the server of choice for virtualized environments or demanding HPC applications requiring maximum performance density. It features support for four Intel Xeon processors E5-4600 and a memory capacity of up to 1.5 terabytes via 48 memory sockets in a 2U rack system. Integrated dual 1GbE or 10GbE ports, six PCIe Gen 3 x16 slots, plus two expansion slots for quad 1GbE, dual 10GbE, or Infiniband modules provide expandability and flexibility.

Over 150 onboard sensors feed the intelligent system-level management software with temperature, voltage, and other information to ensure maximum uptime and allow system admins to monitor overall system health and resources.
