Samsung Expands Its Memory Card Line

Samsung has expanded its line of SD and microSD cards with the introduction of a new Pro Series line featuring cards with capacities up to 64 GB and transfer speeds up to 80 MB per second.

Available now, the new cards are currently on display at PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.

The new Pro Series cards expand Samsung's line-up of memory card products, joining new High Speed Series and Plus Extreme Speed Series ? both of which include cards with capacities up to 32 GB. Also at the PhotoPlus Expo, Samsung will exhibit its full line of Digital Imaging products, including new NX lenses joining the growing NX family of compact system cameras and SMART compact point-and-shoot models with built-in Wi-Fi.

Samsung's new Pro Series SD and microSD memory cards are sporting a high-end design, they are designed to be water resistant, shockproof (up to 3,200 lbs.), and magnet proof (up to 10,000 gauss.) Read speeds go up to 80 MB per second and write speeds up to 40 MB per second .

Samsung's High Speed and Plus Extreme Speed memory cards complete the line-up of SD and microSD products, and feature a performance boost. Available in 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB size capacities, the High Speed Series and Plus Extreme Speed Series of memory cards offer transfer speeds up to 24 MB per second and 48 MB per second, respectively.

As with the Pro Series, the High Speed and Plus Extreme Speed memory cards can survive up to 24 hours in water, withstand the force of a 1.6-ton vehicle (3,200 lbs.), and resist up to 10,000 gauss (slightly less than the power of a medical imaging magnet).
